1. General questions
What kind of products can you create with a badge press system?
In addition to the classic and well-known button badges, you could also acreate fridge magnets and all sorts of special type of badges, like badges with a mirror, key ring badges and many more. Any color desktop printer is suitable – with which the paper is printed – and any paper is suitable. After that, the print must be cut out with a paper cutter, and then simply pressed together with the 3 parts of the badge (metal back, protective foil, metal front) in two steps with the badge press. The final product is a durable badge with a unique text, design or photo.
What kind of machines are needed to make badges?
You will need a badge press –manual or pneumatic – and a paper cutter that will cut the print just the right size for the badge. You can find various types of both in our webshop. You'll also need one or more badge press moulds for the badge press, depending on the size and shape of the badge you want to produce. There are circle sizes from 25mm to 75mm, but you can also find oval and square shapes, the latter mainly for making metal fridge magnets. ► Jump to badge making system: badge presses, moulds, paper cutters and various types of raw materials
What is included in the price of one piece of badge?
1pc metallic back, 1pc metallic front and 1pc transparent PVC sheet. You will need to print the image on paper and cut it out with a die cutter.
Which is better: the paper cutter or the paper die cut machine?
The paper cutter can only cut one piece of paper at once while with the paper die cut machine you can cut multiple sheets at once. The former is cheaper, the latter costs a bit more but you could buy the cutting moulds separately, so you can cut various sizes with one machine. We also provide a cheap solution: the Hand circular paper cutter for badge making but it's only suitable for smaller – 25mm or 32mm – badges.
2. Technical problems
The pressing is not perfect. After pressing, the foil or metal top is not sufficiently bonded to the metal bottom.
This could be a defect in the tool or a defect in the material. If the tool is old and this problem develops gradually, the tool must be replaced. If it occurs when ordering a new material, then unfortunately there is a manufacturing defect in the material, for example a few tenths of a mm smaller or larger.
